Post Title: Logistics Assistant

PURPOSE OF THEJOB
Under technical supervision of Chief sub regional Hub-Office performs a variety of information gathering, monitoring, technical and administrative services of moderate scope and difficulty, in support of programme activities:
- Collect, check and monitor the status of incoming offshore supplies in transit through Douala and provide support in the reception, dispatching, customs clearance of freight transiting through the Port of Douala to ensures timely delivery of material and equipment to UNICEF country offices in Central Africa Sub region.
- Prepare weekly SITREP of cargo in transit through Douala and co-ordinate the report with freight forwarders and COs
- Monitors the day to day activities for the UNICEF-global forwarder and the local appointed clearing agent. Keeps them informed of all shipments and ensures that all documentation necessary for clearing is provided to the forwarder. Follows up with the UNICEF country offices in sub region for provision of exemption requests.
- Maintains effective working relations and contact with the country offices in central Africa Sub region in relation with their cargo transiting through Douala and advice on. Maintains link with UNICEF Supply Division on transnational shipments, deliveries, claims and appropriateness of supplies
- processes logistics request from country offices of sub region and ensures follow-up action completed included emergency delivery of supplies.
- Supports the Management of the UNICEF Hub warehouses, in line with UNICEF policies and ensures that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and all relevant records are properly maintained in VISION
- Executes additional administration tasks to support the overall functionning of the Regional Hubs of WCARO
QUALIFICATIONSANDCOMPETENCES
Education:
Completion of Secondary School Education, preferably supplemented by technical or University cources in Logistics and Transport of a level equivalent to BTS or DUT.
Work experience:
Five years of professionnal work experience in supporting supply and logistics management, transport and custom’s formalities,
Experiene with SAP or related software will be considered and asset.

Languages:
- Fluency in French and Good Knowledge of English is required.
- Knowledge of local working language is a asset
